This is a good battery--as promised. I was hoping it would last a bit longer, but it does last three or four hours. I work online so this is merely for using the internet and not, say, watching DVDs or listening to music, but it does the job.

This alone will have me ordering from them in the future for any more hardware needs. The battery is a perfect fit. I have not tested the life of the battery from full charge to depletion, but I have gotten 3 hours at least with normal usage on battery alone.

Why your HP F3172A Battery light flashing?
this migth fix your problem;
- Go to your power settings by right clicking on the desktop and select Properties> click the Screen Saver tab> click Power.
- Under Power schemes select select all of the choices to never.
- Plug the power supply into the
laptop and wait till it reaches 100% and stop charging..
- Disconnect the power supply and let the laptop discharge completly untill it heibernates.
- Reconect the power supply and let the laptop charge complely again, then go back into the HP F3172A laptop battery power settings and resume the previous settings.
